Directors Note Fall 2023

It is with great pleasure that I share some exciting updates from the Ohio furniture builders. Over the summer, our dedicated craftsmen worked tirelessly to ensure compliance with the new STURDY Act, which officially became law on September 1st. What truly sets our community apart is our remarkable sense of unity. The Ohio builders joined forces to exchange valuable insights and collaborate on the best strategies for implementing the required changes. Their collective efforts have been nothing short of remarkable, as retailers you can now have full confidence in selling compliant bedroom furniture.

Looking ahead, we are eagerly anticipating the next Ohio Hardwood Furniture Market, which is scheduled to take place on April 2-3 in Mt. Hope. The Market will be open both days from 8 am to 4 pm. Registration will open on our website in January.

Additionally, I’m delighted to inform you that many of our talented builders are currently submitting their finest designs for the highly anticipated 2024 Showcase House. The winning furniture will be showcased at the upcoming Market. We look forward to hosting you in April. In the meantime, our website provides you with all the tools you need to connect with over 200 members of the Ohio Hardwood Furniture Guild. Your continued support is what makes this community thrive, and we are deeply grateful for it.
